International Conference on the Mechanical Behaviour of Materials
The 14th International Conference on the Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, ICM-14, invites all the researchers to present works and collaborate in this event, that will take place in Santiago, Chile, on 5th – 7th July 2023. The invitations are extended to all the colleagues that have interests in any subject related to the mechanical behaviour of materials.
ICM-14 is expected to be one of the largest conferences on Mechanics of Materials, with an expected participation from different fields of engineering and science, including academia and industry. The objectives of ICM are to foster research on the mechanical behaviour of materials, to promote related international cooperation among scientists and engineers and to provide means for the public dissemination of the results from these efforts. Held every four years, ICM conferences are intended to cover progress on all aspects of the mechanical behaviour of materials from both the macroscopic and microscopic viewpoints.
Why will it be held at Santiago of Chile?
Santiago is a city with over four centuries of history, a modern city that stands out for the friendliness of its people, the historic heritage found on almost every corner, the beauty of its quarters and the activity built up around them.
Since its location is in a valley, it is surrounded by mountains that offer attractive panoramas like the ski resorts in the Andes Mountains, hiking, horseback riding, climbing and much more in Cajon del Maipo and discover the typical flavors of food while enjoying a day in the countryside.
In the surroundings of Santiago, the most important wine regions of the country are found which are known as Ruta del Vino (the Wine Route), where you can visit the vineyards and taste different wine strains accompanied by Chilean cuisine.
Because of its central location, Santiago also allows you to be at the beach in only a few hours, so in one day you can see Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and other locations in the area such as the Port of San Antonio, Rocas de Santo Domingo and Isla Negra among others.
Chile’s natural highlights comprise from the Atacama Desert in the north to the southern ice fields and glaciers of Patagonia and numerous lakes and volcanoes.
The proposed venue is the business district of Santiago. It is situated in the metropolitan area of the city and Santiago is one of the most accessible cities in Chile: in terms of air links just 25 minutes from “Arturo Merino Benítez” International Airport.
We are sure that the invited delegates, the accompanying guests and all the participants will like and enjoy each and every bit of time which they will spend with us.
